National Wellness Month Through Our Eyes: How The Offleash Team Prioritizes Well-Being

Share

August is National Wellness Month—a time to prioritize self-care, build healthy habits, and reflect on what it means to feel well in both body and mind. At Offleash, we know that wellness looks different for everyone. Whether it’s a walk in nature, a favorite creative outlet, or simply taking time to unplug, our team embraces a wide range of practices that help us recharge and show up as our best selves every day.

To help support the team’s mental and physical health, Offleash has implemented several wellness-focused initiatives—from a flexible time off policy, to a dedicated Wise & Well culture committee, to a wellness stipend that can be used toward anything that supports mind, body, and spirit.

In honor of the month, we asked our team: What does wellness mean to you? Here’s what they shared.

Reading and sipping my tea reminds me that practicing wellness can be quite simple. Doing both of these things are opportunities for me to calm my mind and just enjoy the little things. – Bianca Gorospe, Senior Media Relations Manager

While we may not get to see each other every day, my niece and nephew bring so much joy into my life. Every moment spent with them reminds me to take a pause and remember the simple joys in life. A cuddle from these sweet ones, a moment as simple as watching dog videos on my phone, or seeing the world through their eyes, if just for a moment. It centers me and reminds me of what’s most important and to embrace the little things. – Kelly Indrieri, Vice President, Integrated Marketing

Wellness for me lately is spending time at the lake with my little ones. Watching them make sandcastles and splash in the water reminds me to slow down, savor the moment, and stop taking life so seriously. – Erica Anderson, Account Manager

At the beginning of the year, instead of a resolution, I made a list of things I wanted to do. One of those was getting to more bodies of water. Paddle boarding gets me out there and helps to clear my head after a busy work week. P.S. Jumping into the freezing cold American River is like a cold plunge and it feels amazing. – Liz Chapa, Account Executive

Exercising and spending time outside is my favorite way to clear my mind and recharge mentally and physically. – Amy McDowell, Account Manager

Starting and ending my day with movement and quality time with my dog, Fergie, is the best way to bookend my days. Walks outside are especially grounding for me and a great way to clear my mind. – Alex Daigle, Senior Account Manager

Nothing grounds me more than being by the ocean with my family. Watching my kids ride their bikes along the coast is a reminder to slow down and soak in the simple moments. Time together always brings me back to what really matters. – Danielle Salvato-Earl, Partner

Walking my dog is one of the highlights of my day, and an important part of my

wellness routine. Aside from being one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself physically, walking really helps me decompress mentally, get present, and focus on gratitude. And if I can time our walk with a beautiful sunset like the one pictured, that’s even better! Georgia Kulesa, Senior Writer

Wellness is many things, but there’s nothing like a walk on the beach with my girl and a good matcha.Robin Bulanti, Partner

Wellness to me is always having flowers or something that brings you joy/brightens your day nearby. I  always love having flowers in my living space because they always make me smile when I see them! – Ashley Valdez, Assistant Account Executive

For me, wellness is about being grounded in the moments that matter most. I prioritize time outdoors, whether it’s playing with my kids or a quiet morning coffee in the backyard. Cooking is another way I recharge – for me it’s calming and a chance to nourish the people I love. Time with my family is the ultimate reset and keeps me feeling balanced no matter how busy things get. – Tanya Carlsson, Partner

Grabbing little moments with my family is what brings me the most joy. A snow cone at the park, walking around the farmers market; sometimes it’s even just staying in our pajamas til noon and reveling in slow-paced Sunday mornings. – Nina Beck, Marketing Specialist

As we continue through August and beyond, we hope these reflections inspire you to explore what wellness looks like for you. Small, intentional moments can make a big impact—so take a breath, check in with yourself, and don’t forget to prioritize your well-being.
